'Tis The Season

Ah, Turkey day has passed and we are now officially in the midst of the holiday who-ha, what-not and doo-dads (they started allready, but it really gets going after turkey day).
The sales began at 5:00 am this morning, get there early enough and some places even have a little gift for you. The ads are increasing, not only on tv but you'll probably need to resnt a forklift to pick up the sunday paper this week. Santa's at the mall and here and there and everywhere, the decorations are going up on houses, trees, bushes and balconies everywhere just as they have been in the stores for almost a month.
Time for the gift lists, time for the cards, e-cards and letters. Time to drop your change into the Salvation Army buckets, time for food drives, coat drives and of course toys for tots. Time to remember that with all the hustle and bustle and all the stress, crowded parking lots, packed malls, long lines, going six places to find that one hot item that this is supposed to be a happy time of year.
There is something very right about that good feeling you get when you drop that money in the can or put those cans or coats or toys into the boxes and bins. There is also nothing wrong with that little bit of satisfaction you get when someone opens a gift you bought and goes bonkers over it. So instead of hating the holidays, do the who-ha and what-not. Maybe a little bit of doo dadding too. It's really more of a kids holiday, and sometimes we seem to forget that. Have some fun, dont let the long lines and traffic drive you nuts.
Maybe for at least part of this holiday season you should let your inner child loose, and let him/her wreak a little havok on all that Bah Humbug you feel coming on.
There was probably at least one time in your life when you really looked forward to this time of year, and I'm guessing if you that you havent forgotten it.
